Bronze-Coloured Buddha – earth-touching gesture, lotus

This seated Buddha figure shows the Enlightened One in the earth-touching gesture (bhumisparsha): the right hand points to the earth, the left rests open in the lap. The calm face, the finely worked hair and the robe borders with engraved patterns make the figure especially expressive.

The Buddha sits on a lotus base with sculpted petals. The dark, bronze-coloured patina with lighter accents gives the figure a warm, noble presence.
