Bronze Ramakien Battle Scene – gilded, approx. 50 cm

This lively battle scene from the Thai national epic Ramakien shows two warriors in a duel: on the left a prince with a tall crown, bow and sword, on the right a kneeling opponent with a mask-like face and a club. The dark green patinated bronze is finely chased and partly gilded on the crowns, garments and jewellery.

Both figures stand on a rectangular wooden base. The gilding shows light signs of wear consistent with its age, which add to the charm of the piece.
